UFC Strike Pack Drops

Pack Drops
UFC Strike Packs were the packages that users purchased with mystery moments inside. One of my responsibilities was work with the product designers to create unique concepts for each pack drop. Each pack was intended to generate excitement engagement with the UFC Strike community. This task was complicated because there was 1 years worth of pack drops, and the hand over needed to appear seamless from the original team. I made an index of all existing packs for our team to reference to create a guideline for our new packs. I then made mood boards for all pack drop with distinct references for both the concept and the VFX associated with marketing videos.

Marketing Packages
Once the store assets were developed and exported they were used to generate marketing collateral. My team was developing both the product and all supporting assets for marketing the product. Once these assets were generated, my team was also responsible for submitting them and working through all required changes with the brand team at UFC. marketing assets were required for the UFC strike website, socail media, ufc.com features as well as occasional TV spots, and the live events.

Rapid Concepting
One of the ways we were able to keep up with the workload and timeline the project required was through the use of AI concepting. Our technical artists were using Mid-journey and Stable diffusion to work through several different concept possibilities within days. Once those concepts were reviewed and one selected, we developed that idea with traditional techniques, then plugged the textures into the AE file for store export. While AI is an incredibly powerful tool, I felt that it was important to leave it in the discovery phase, and make sure the final product was fully of our own making.

Handover and Process Improvements
UFC Strike was a project our team inherited from another team at a partner company. This transition was complicated as we had to figure out the partners pipeline from their source material. Their files were Made in AE and C4D. Our technical artists were amazing and quickly optimized the files for export. Once optimized we began production on new packs within two weeks of handover. We then updated and improved the approvals process with the UFC team for end to end solutions.
